Many miles of trails weave their way throughout the 162 acres of forests, prairie land, pastures, wetlands, fern valleys, oak savanna and a rocky ridge. Beautiful and often remote campsites are tucked away throughout the landscape. A few can be accessed by your vehicle, others are backpacked into and/or supported by our farm 4×4 or jeep. This is rustic camping experience or semi-rustic camping supported by a few amenities like picnic tables, fire rings, firewood and composting toilet houses that have potable water and wash water available in refillable tanks.

Day hiking alone is a great way to relax and connect in with nature. One could walk all day and still have new areas to explore. A climb up the ridge road and into the back 100 acres guarantees peace, quiet and wildness that is difficult to find so close to the city. Anytime of year is a good day for an energetic jaunt outside whether on foot, skis or snowshoes.
